The Hierarchy of Moral Evils

America, like it or not, there is such a thing as right and wrong. There is a legitimate hierarchy of moral evils, and the
direct willful destruction of human life can never be justified; it can never be supported. As a devout Christian/Catholic, and an advocate for all unborn babies, my vote will go to the candidate who is pro-life.
We, as Christians, cannot ignore the Kindgom of God in our
national politics. Ultimately, all belongs to Him, a point we declare each time
we pray the 'Our Father'.
When we choose to follow the teachings of this Kingdom in
our political choices, we stand on the side of a higher authority and can
participate more fully in His work on earth.
Conversely, when we stand in opposition to His truth, we
will receive the consequences of our action.
Although the Bible never specifically addresses the issue of
abortion, it does teach that life begin at conception. In Psalm 139: 13, 16,
King David said this about God's role in our conception:
"For you created my inmost
being; you knit me together in my mother's womb . . . your eyes saw my unformed
body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them
came to be."
Society continually seeks to devalue the lives of the
unborn, creating its own definitions of humanity based on distorted views of
morality. But the undeniable fact is that life does begin at creation, and a human is created as soon as
he or she is conceived. God is
present at our creation; He is, in fact, our Creator. Our value as human beings
created in His image is conceived even before we are.
This November 4, Christians must be in the forefront to lead
by good example, and convince the world that Christ and Christian models are
the solution for America's turmoil. Experience testifies that human endeavor,
without God's intervention, fails. Gimmickry and charades of any sort will not
work, either, particularly in spiritual and
moral absolutes, as truth cannot be compromised nor faith trifled with.
As Christians, we are morally
obligated to pray, to act and to vote to abolish the evil of abortion in
America, limiting it as much as we can until it is finally abolished.

Another great article, Judi. May God grant all abortion advocates forgiveness some day. It is one of the most horrific and unspeakable crimes invented by man! Thanks for sharing.SandraPerhaps this is the most relevant portion of the campaign that is chilling my soul... Thanks for commenting, Sandra, and God help us!
hi judi lynn,i have to tell you, i get confused with the abortion issue. i am against abortion as a form of "oops, i made a mistake" or "now's not the right time."i think every healthy baby should be born. but i wonder about the gravely physically impaired, that because their mother's didn't believe in abortion, they had to live a life of some type of Hell.i know a woman who chose to have her down syndrome baby. he was given 4 years to live.he survived, but had many complications. he's never been out of a wheel chair, never played with anyone. drools constantly, has no control over himself, has never spoken a word or communicated anything, and is now 24! what kind of a life is that, and then i think, well,he has a place in this world for a reason.i just hate to think of a child suffering.and if obama is pro choice, then what is mccain who wants to iradicate the middle east? just because he's a maverick? he wants nothing more than to see all Iraqi's dead. is the age of the human being the issue? baby versus our older sons? or is the killing of human beings the issue? bad guys or not? in that case, both obama and mccain have a killing agenda.thanks for a great article.my best to you, sueFor me, Sue, there are no exceptions for any abortion, and as I've commented before, this is the most burning of issues for me within this whole election - the pro-choice thing -- It just doesn't end with pro-choice; it opens up doors to multitudes of actions that create "the anything goes society" that we are presently living and it will get worse - Once morals are taken out of a society, it can't go anywhere else but down -- I guess, Sue, I believe that God's in control of all and for all the impaired children born, there are reasons - it's a hard call, but these are my beliefs. As far as war, you make valid points. I don't believe we should have gone into Iraq in the first place, but since we did we have to finish it -- it's all so complicated - I am not sure if I were in the position of being a soldier if I could carry out orders to kill even in the case of protecting our country but you never know. See, I am black and white on pro-life but grey on war. You make me think, my friend.
Great article, Judi. For me there is no confusion about the abortion issue. It is one of the worst evils in the world. Period.
