I know, I know -- I should be working right now. Here I am under tremendous pressure to finish work related deadlines and yet another news alert filters through my e-mail and, again, I am distracted. When I read this article from The Oswasso Reporter, I was amazed:

OWASSO - When Gary Rofkahr from Owasso heard there was a baby doll on local store shelves that said, "Islam is the Light," he didn't believe it.

He bought the Little Mommy Real Loving Baby Cuddle and Coo doll to see for himself and he was shocked to hear the words, "Islam is the Light" among other baby gibberish including "Mama."

"I have a 1-year-old granddaughter," he said. "It makes me mad that someone is trying to indoctrinate our children with an innocent toy."

He called Fisher Price to complain. He was told they were aware of the problem and would gladly refund his money.

This little cute doll has caused a big ugly stir when it was discovered that among other baby gibberish, she utters the words "Islam is the Light" and "Satan is King".

"I told them I didn't want my money back, I wanted them to pull these dolls off the shelf," he said. "They told me they can't pull an item just because a customer requests it, they have to have corporate direction. I told them I would get corporate direction and get back to them. I told them I'm from a town of 30,000 people with 46 churches in it and I know someone who attends each one. I'm going to everyone I know to tell them about this and I'm going to call Target and Wal-Mart and see if we can pull this doll off the shelves."

UPDATE FROM OWASSO REPORTER: I want readers to note that I never said the baby doll says anything about Satan.I did hear the baby doll very clearly say Islam is the Light.

Rofkahr said he found various versions of the doll at local Target and Wal-Mart stores, which have since pulled the toys from their shelves, reported KJRH.com.

Fisher-Price and parent company Mattel didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.

Well there we go again Judi your telling people facts and truth and even giving them an example that most really don't want to hear and make light of. A harmless little toy why get excited. Then why the need? How about since we are a predominantly Christian nation, oh are we any longer, Jesus is the way the truth and the light. What do you think the reaction would be to that? My God they'd have the toy maker before Congress. Yes mom and dad nothing to worry about, fear you know. A harmless little doll. Yes wrapped in light and innocence. Great job. Robert.

Judi, this is unbelievable but you provided proof! Great reporting. I share RM's sentiments. And I totally understand G's inclination to laugh about this. Thanks for sharing this story.

technically I think the Fox news lady was fibbing about "spreading hate." The doll said "Islam is the light." In and of itself, that's not hate speech, unless you hate Islam.

Anon, I think it depends what perspective you are viewing this from -- Islam, in itself is not hateful, but propaganda is; especially indoctrinating children with things they do not understand nor should they - that is the perspective I had taken this from. I suppose it all depends on how something is interpretated.
